BlueScope Steel Limited, is one of the leading flat steel manufacturers in the Asia Pacific region. The Company has a proud history that goes back to 1915 when we first entered the iron and steel industry.
BlueScope Steel successfully operates steel rolling, coating and painting plants. These facilities are complemented by a network of 23 roll-forming facilities across 12 countries in the Asia Pacific region that is unmatched by any steel company.
BlueScope Steel has had an operational presence in Vietnam for over fifteen years commencing in 1993 with the commissioning of a building business in Dong Nai province. Subsequently, an additional facility was constructed in Ha Tay province in 1996.
In 2003, BlueScope Steel made a decision to invest US$105 million to construct a new world-class flat steel metallic coating and painting facility located in Phu My 1 Industrial Zone, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province. The new facility was commissioned in November 2005 and includes a 125,000 tonne per annum metallic coating line, 50,000 tonne per annum paint line and a 15,000 tonne per annum combination slitting line.
